This aggressive pursuit highlights Como's ambition as they look to consolidate their place in Italy's top flight and provide coach Cesc Fàbregas with a more robust squad. The club has been among the biggest spenders in Serie A so far this summer, signaling their determination to avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

Sánchez, who recently celebrated his 29th birthday, is currently under contract with Galatasaray until June 2027, with an option for an additional year. The Colombian international brings a wealth of experience, boasting 71 senior caps for his country and a career in European football that dates back to 2016.

After an impressive stint at Ajax, Sánchez made a high-profile move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2017 for a reported €42 million. He then joined Galatasaray in September 2023 for €9.5 million. In his last season with the Turkish club, the defender was a key player, featuring in 44 official matches and even contributing five goals and two assists from his defensive position.
