Despite sustaining initial gunshot wounds, the undefeated fighter incredibly grapples with one assailant while the other continues to fire at close range. Khizriev ultimately manages to escape further harm by fleeing the scene.

According to Russian media reports, Khizriev is currently in stable condition but suffered numerous injuries to his shoulder, hand, and chest. He is reportedly undergoing surgery for his wounds.

"PFL is aware of the situation concerning Timur Khizriev, and remain in close touch with his representatives," the mixed-martial arts promotion stated in a public release. "Our thoughts are with him and his family during this time."
