AN EXCITING FIRST HALF!
In the 21st minute of the first half, Spain took the lead with a goal by Zubimendi. Just five minutes later, in the 26th minute, Nuno Mendes scored a classy goal to level the score for Portugal. As the first half neared its end, Oyarzabal scored from Pedri’s pass on the counterattack, making it 2-1 for Spain. The first half ended with this score.
SECOND HALF ENDS IN A DRAW!
In the second half, Spain couldn’t create many chances, while Cristiano Ronaldo scored to bring Portugal back to 2-2. In the dying moments of the game, Ronaldo was injured and had to be substituted. After 90 minutes, the game was still tied.
EXTRA TIME
No goals were scored in the first half of extra time. In the second half of extra time, Yamal was substituted. As there were no goals in extra time either, the match went to penalties.
